There is more help available. I just never had the heart to throw it away. Now works like normal. This errors usually happens because the spindle(The thing that spins the DVD), isn't moving properly.

Click here to become a Hardware Analysis registered user. We saw the info you provided in Google results. I put a tiny drop of oil (WD40) on the motor spindle as mentioned above...we shall see how long this all lasts.... We followed the instructions and my machine is now working.

I just tried it again. Took the cover off, gave it a good spin, now it works perfectly. But i am here to tell you that it is okay to open up your dvd player and mess around in side. When F61 disappears, fan goes off; it all takes about 5 seconds.
