It did spin up a little when I put the dvd back in, but it didn't help fix H02, so I decided to look underneath the dvd drive.(I had to take A new motor could fix the problem... This worked like a charm! I had H02 on my Panasonic RV31.

Even thou the disc doesn't spin and saying that it errors out, I believe that the laser is suppose to power up but since it failed, the disc didn't spin. The spindle driver becomes hot. All five screws go back in, but there is less pressure on top of the drive (which seems to stop the white disk from spinning). I opened up my Panasonic DVD player by unscrewing the screws behind it.

It might work for you, too. My patience grows thin with tedious jobs, so my wife took a shot at it. You are a true genius, the Cypher of Panasonic DVD-players. When you took the disk out, did you bump the gear that opens the tray by chance?

I removed it, cleaned it, still nadda. Thanks for the easy fix!
